Palouse RTPO Road Standards
Asotin, Columbia, Garfield, and Whitman Counties, Washington.
USKH developed complete roadway design and traffic impact study/analysis guidelines for four counties within southeastern Washington. These counties comprise the Palouse Regional Transportation Planning Organization (RTPO), which are attended by engineers and public work directors of each County. The guidelines include the geometrical elements required to plan and design roadway, intersections, pedestrian facilities, and trails. The traffic impact analysis guidelines define the requirements of traffic studies, as well as define mitigation expectations for off-site development/project impacts upon county roadways. They also provide planning and design criteria for all weather roadways, driveways, alleys, and identify plan requirements for document submittals. This project required significant coordination with an between the staffs of all four counties. |
