Sitka Sawmill Creek Road Upgrade
Sitka, Alaska
The Sawmill Creek Road is a highway that serves residential, commercial, and recreational interests along its 5-mile length. Although the road is a popular corridor for bicycle and pedestrian traffic, the original road was narrow, with limited facilities for non-vehicular traffic. To improve access for bicyclists and pedestrians, the road was widened, sidewalks and a separated path were added, intersections improved, and drainage upgraded. USKH contracted with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities and provided right-of-way and design surveying as well as right-of-way mapping for the Sawmill Creek Road corridor from Jeff Davis Street to Sawmill Creek. |
