UAF West Ridge Utilidor Extension
Fairbanks, Alaska
USKH provided land survey; hazardous materials abatement design; and civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services for this 2,600-foot utilidor. In addition, there is also room for the potential installation of chilled water piping to accommodate a future central chiller plant.
The 8’ by 8.5’ inside dimensions of the buried concrete utilidor system make this a very usable space, year-round. The West Ridge Mall was also redesigned as part of this $6.5 million project. The dual, parallel roads were replaced with a single curved roadway system to decrease vehicle traffic and make the mall more pedestrian friendly. |
