Fairbanks Police Station
City of Fairbanks, Alaska

As the City of Fairbanks continues to grow, so does the need for public safety facilities.  The project site for the new police station presented an interesting design challenge: design a building on a 1.4-acre site to interface with adjacent architectural styles.  Fortunately, our architects see design restrictions as an opportunity to explore unique and creative solutions.  By using the same setback distance, a strong horizontal base, modulating the parapet heights to pick up the theme of the neighboring City Hall, and using a complementary color scheme, the new police station possesses its own identity while flowing seamlessly into existing building styles.
