Electrical Engineering Student Intern  

Summary of Position (general responsibility and purpose)

Performs a variety of routine tasks, which are intended to provide experience and interaction with other staff, methods, practices, programs and the culture of the organization. Prepares, or assists in the preparation of: electrical engineering documents, details, schedules or reports as assigned. Performs fundamental electrical engineering assignments and works from designs of others, compiles data, performs fundamental design computations, prepares engineering plans. Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality project on schedule: developing knowledge and proficiency in the use of basic drafting tools and aids; developing knowledge and proficiency in firm’s drafting standards, both electrical and computer; assisting in the production of drawings, graphs, charts, exhibits and other project documents; developing knowledge and proficiency in the types of resources available (reference materials, government agencies, utility companies, in-house records, etc.); developing knowledge and proficiency in the use of CAD equipment and procedures.

 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Currently enrolled in an accredited electrical engineering program. Computer experience to include AutoCAD and Microsoft office. Preferably has experience working in engineering consulting.
