Under close and frequent supervision, this position assists electrical engineers by performing the
routine aspects of electrical engineering assignments, subsequently acquiring familiarity with the
programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.

This position performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.

Performs electrical design calculations (i.e., low/high power distribution systems, lighting, security/fire systems, data/telecommunication systems, etc.,) sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work, as required by assignment.

Researches code issues and works with city, state, and county officials. Researches design options and documents findings for electrical engineers and senior electrical engineers. Assists with other duties assigned by project engineers and/or project managers. May attend “kick-off” and design review meetings, and interacts with clients as his or her level of experience progresses. Performs plan drafting using AutoCAD software.
