Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide computer support to the Pacific Northwest. This position is responsible for providing CAD support such as creating report graphics and plan sets. In this position you will develop and maintain symbol and drawing libraries including standard objects, and maintain current hard copies to facilitate use. In addition, you will transfer prints and sketches to CAD files, edit drawings from red-lines, draw details, create plan and profiles, help and advise other departmental staff in CAD usage, and ensure departmental staff are kept up to date on CAD-related developments.

Minimum Requirements:

Must possess strong mathematical knowledge and skills, including algebra and trigonometry. This position must be computer literate in the following areas: engineering applications, spreadsheets, word processing, and database structuring. Minimum of 5 years experience as a CAD Technician. Two or Four year Civil Technology degree with EIT preferred. Technically proficient using the most current version of AutoCAD  , Land Desktop,  and  Civil Design, Civil 3D a plus . Must have working knowledge of civil engineering principles and proficient in plan/profile creation for roads and drainage , water, and sewer applications. Good verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required to effectively accomplish assigned tasks. Knowledge of drafting principles and drafting standards, with the ability to assemble finished plan sets using external referencing is required. Thorough understanding of the Land Desktop project environment, including point management, surface creation, and alignment generation.
