Job Description:
This position is responsible for helping USKH staff with computer network issues and caring for the computer network system. Works under the direction of the IT Manager and a Network Specialist II.
Identifies and diagnoses operational issues and implements solutions. Executes responsibilities independently and as part of the USKH-IT team. Understands technical issues and the implications to the business, and is able to communicate them with others. Performs complex technical activities, interacts with users, coordinates requirements, and follows corporate policies and procedures as applicable.
Monitors and updates the helpdesk tracking software in order to assure that the current status of reported issues is documented and resolved by order of priority. Installs, configures, and maintains networking equipment in the enterprise WAN & LAN environments. Writes scripts to assist with computer network management and deployment. Responsible for daily system backups, restoration of data files as requested by users. Assists with updates and/or generates network documentation on operational procedures, topology, change management, and network assets.
Identifies and highlights new technologies for consideration by firm to improve efficiency, profitability, security, reliability, and/or usability of computer network resources. Maintains a broad knowledge of current computer/network systems technologies, architectures, and products. Maintains or develops specific knowledge skills in the computer network products selected by USKH.
Minimum Requirements:
Excellent customer service skills required. 1 year of experience supporting Microsoft and Cisco networks preferred. Associates degree in Computer Networking or related field preferred. Recent Microsoft Certification preferred.
