Architecture
USKH provides a challenging and stimulating environment
for professional growth with exciting and varied projects throughout the State of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. Our architects often lead multidisciplined teams comprising our in-house engineers, planners, and/or land surveyors. Over the years, we have proven this teaming relationship provides an efficient and cost-effective method for our clients.
You will be working with advanced computer-aided design and presentation tools, and be part of a team of more than 170 dedicated professional and technical staff, including LEED accredited professionals. Our architectural and support staff including designers and CAD technicians, numbers about 40 persons. We offer a wide range of services including studies, condition surveys, design services, and construction administration.

CIVIL, General/Airports
Our General/Airports Division is a diverse group of engineers who focus on general civil site design and airports as well as water resources. Our engineers design the sites for new schools, hotels, as well as military and municipal buildings--just to name a few. Our aviation designers are involved in nearly every aspect of airport design and operations, from airport layout plans, runway expansions and overlays, to security upgrades.
USKH also has a dedicated Water Resources Group to meet the specific water resource management needs of our clients.

CIVIL, Private/Municipal
Our Private/Municipal Division is dedicated to meeting the needs of both private developers and municipalities. Our work has included general site grading; runoff and storm drain channelization and treatment; site utilities including water, sanitary sewer, utilidors, storm drain, lift station, on-site waste water disposal, wells, and fire lines; parking; access and service roads; loading docks; landscaping buffers, permitting, and virtually all possible aspects of site development.

CIVIL, Structures
Our structural engineers and designers are a talented group of individuals who are experts at finding solutions to challenging problems. Our structural group designs buildings, bridges, foundations, walkways, tunnels, and employ the latest seismic techniques and methods.

CIVIL, Surface Transportation
Transportation engineering is a principal discipline at USKH. Our transportation professionals provide planning and design services to public and private clients throughout the State of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
The staff in our transportation department, including designers and CAD technicians, numbers about 20 persons. You will be working in a dynamic, dedicated team in an ever growing department that provides many opportunities for professional growth!

Corporate Marketing & Communications (CMC)
The CMC Department at USKH is a diverse, fast-paced creative environment. You will beworking in a team with talented, and devoted people, and the responsibilities will focus on the coordination and writing of proposals for various departments, often with strict deadlines. This department is also involved public relations, and advertising in general for all eight offices. USKH has an in-house graphic artist/web designer on staff.

Mechanical Engineering
The Mechanical Engineering discipline is an important part of the multidiscipline services that USKH offers. USKH's mechanical engineers work with our clients to determine the issues that impact the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as plumbing, piping, and life safety issues.
Our engineers are experienced with system design in Alaska and understand that maintenance, serviceability, initial cost, long-term operations costs, off-hour operations, acoustics, indoor air quality, and owner preferences all influence the selection of the HVAC equipment.
We provide the highest quality of mechanical engineering services for numerous clients throughout the State of Alaska.

Electrical Engineering
The Electrical Engineering discipline is an important part of the multidiscipline services that USKH offers. The USKH electrical team has extensive experience in all aspects of electrical engineering including site lighting, power distribution, communication utilities, building lighting, power, telecom, fire alarm, building management systems, industrial hazardous areas, airport lighting, and controls.
This group provides the highest quality electrical engineering services to both internal and external clients throughout the State of Alaska.
